Regional Navigation System Using Geosynchronous Satellites and Stratospheric Airships
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper proposes a methodology to design a regional navigation system using geosynchronous satellites and stratospheric airships. One important factor in designing a navigation system is dilution of precision. We design a regional navigation system based on the simulations of the system’s dilution of precision. The system would consist of geosynchronous orbit satellites and stratospheric airships for the urban areas. In the beginning stage, the system would augment the existing GPS constellation, and in the later stage with sufficient satellites and airships, we could achieve an independent alternative navigation system.

The Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) is an emerging satellite based navigation system offering an independent positioning and timing service over India and neighboring regions. Based on satellite laser ranging data collected by selected stations of the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) precise orbits have been determined for the first pair of inclined geosynchronous ...

The regional service of the Chinese BeiDou satellite navigation system is now in operation with a constellation including five Geostationary Earth Orbit satellites (GEO), five Inclined Geosynchronous Orbit (IGSO) satellites and four Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites. Besides the standard positioning service with positioning accuracy of about 10 m, both precise relative positioning and precise...

In contrast to the US Global Positioning System (GPS), the Russian Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) and the European Galileo, the developing Chinese BeiDou satellite navigation system (BDS) consists of not only Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), but also Geostationary Orbit (GEO) as well as Inclined Geosynchronous Orbit (IGSO) satellites. In this study, the Precise Point Positioning (PPP) an...

The Chinese BeiDou system (BDS), having different types of satellites, is an important addition to the ever growing system of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). It consists of Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellites, Inclined Geosynchronous Satellite Orbit (IGSO) satellites and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites. This paper investigates the receiver-dependent bias between these sat...
متن کاملGPS and BeiDou Differential Code Bias Estimation Using Fengyun-3C Satellite Onboard GNSS Observations
Differential code biases (DCBs) are important parameters in GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) applications such as positioning as well as ionosphere remote sensing. In comparison to the conventional approach, which utilizes ground-based observations and parameterizes global ionosphere maps together with DCBs, a method is presented for GPS and BeiDou system (BDS) satellite DCB estimation...
